LABOUR PARTY: The Aberconwy constituen­cy Labour Party has appointed a new chair and a new secretary, re-electing other officers. On Fri June 12 at the AGM of the party Cllr Bill Chapman was selected as chair to replace Sian Peake-Jones of Rowen. The new secretary is Carolyn Hodrien of Glan Conwy. Cllr Deborah Good of Llandudno remains the campaign co-ordinator. Re-elected treasurer Terry Dewar presented an encouragin­g financial report. A schedule of campaign and social activities has been prepared, including a quiz night on July 17. Details on the future programme of Labour Party activities is available from 01492 549968. Fri, July 3, 1pm at Conwy Business Centre (behind Cineworld), Llandudno Junction. The Road Safety Team will offer advice, guidance and informatio­n; The aim of the workshop is to help older drivers keep driving for longer. The workshop is free of charge and open to any Conwy resident over 65. No need to book just come along on the day.
