Fine for shoplifting

-

A SHOPLIFTING spree at Llandudno has cost 38-year-old man £512 in fines, compensation and costs at a special weekend court.

Kevin Chambers of Granary Cottages, Betws-yn-Rhos pleaded guilty to stealing cosmetics worth £80 from Superdrug and whisky to the value of £70 belonging to Bishop’s Pantri on August 15.

He asked for three other thefts from shops to be considered at Llandudno court, having explained to police that the theft of whisky was to pay a debt, because he was drugs dependent.

Nia Dawson, defending, said Chambers received £115 a fortnight in benefits.
