ROTARY CLUB: The guest speaker on September 21, was a member of the Club, Don Saunders. He reminded the members that the day was the United Nations Day of Peace, but that since the inauguration of this important day there had been many wars and many people killed. Many of the principles of the UN have not been kept member states. Eighty percent of the victims of war are civilians and over one million people were killed in the war in Iraq. A trillion dollars are spent on armaments each year, all of which could be diverted to help the victims of war. Rotary Foundation is much involved in finding solutions to this seemingly never ending problem. Stephen Walburn thanked Don for his talk.
