Harriers in great form

ABERGELE Harriers Darren Blazier and Rachel Shipley competed with 3,428 other athletes in this year’s Swansea Bay 10k road race.

The event took place along the promenade in the South Wales coastal city.

Blazier, running for North Wales Veterans, clocked 38:06 for 110th place overall and 31st M40.

Shipley, debuting for North Wales Ladies, posted 44:19, a personal best for this distance, to finish 418th overall and 26th senior female.

Three Harriers travelled to Warrington for the English Half Marathon.

Nick Foden set a PB 1:31:14 (chip 1:31:01).

He was immediatel­y followed by Mark Mayers in 1:31:14 (chip 1:31:02), who was third in his age category.

Dave Edwards completed 2:01:42 (chip 2:00:46).

Harrier Anthony Howe travelled to West Wycombe to compete in “Hell in the Chilts”, part of the Hellrunner series of events.

He finished the arduous 10-mile course in a time of 1:51:20 to finish 63rd out of 184 competitor­s.
