Llanrwst need a lift

-

LLANRWST United manager Barry Owen admits two shock cup defeats in a week has created a low mood at Gwydir Park.

The Rwsters followed up a 2-1 Welsh Cup loss at Aberffraw on September 12 by going down 2-1 at home to Felinheli in the FAW Trophy last Saturday.

Both opponents operate in the Gwynedd League – two levels below the Rwsters.

This Saturday will see Llanrwst look to bounce back when they host Llangefni Town in a Welsh Alliance Division One tussle.

Owen said: “It’s been a disappointing couple of weeks for the club.

“The lads have been pretty low but we will train hard this week and prepare for a tough Llangefni side, who themselves will want to bounce back from their Trophy defeat last weekend.”

United struggled for numbers last Saturday against a Felin outfit which took the lead from a 14th minute Iwan Edwards free kick.

Llanrwst had much more of the ball, but failed to create much.

In the second half, the hosts still dominated possession and levelled on 53 minutes when Elliot Llewellyn was fouled in the box and Callum Parry scored from the spot.

Ten minutes later the visitors were awarded a mystery penalty and Edwards made it 2-1.

Llanrwst missed a series of late chances.

Llanrwstwst are seeking a first aider/ physio to help on match days. Contact club secretary David H Jones on 07739 626163.
