Museum honoured by quality award

-

THE Llandudno museum has been recognized as a Quality Attraction by Visit Wales after passing an unannounced inspection with flying colours. The Museum was praised for its displays of local history and heritage and for it’s friendly welcome to visitors.

Chairman of the Llandudno Museum Trust, Roy Haley, said: “We are all delighted with the high score that we achieved in this rigorous inspection and it reflects well on everyone associated with the Museum.”

The Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme is a Welsh Government initiative aimed at achieving high standards of visitor experience in attractions by assessing everything from the web site to the toilets, and from the displays to the retailing.

Dr Sian James, Vice Chair of the Trust, commented: “We have some important new displays and exhibition items this year and it is really good that they have been recognised in this assessment. I must also pay tribute to Richard Hughes our Custodian and to our many volunteers who assist us in the Museum, and particularly for the enthusiastic and helpful welcome that they give to all our visitors.”

The Museum is situated on Gloddaeth Street, and is open every day except Monday. “There is a lot to see of local interest”, said Roy Haley, “and we are pleased to welcome everyone to find out more about Llandudno and its fascinating development.”
