Man accused of city park sex attacks

-

A CAR-WASH worker was accused in court of twice raping a woman on June 16 last year on Forest Recreation Ground.

Vasilica Visan Viorel, 39, of Sneinton, was told that the matters would have to be dealt with ultimately at Nottingham Crown Court.

He faced deputy district judge Michelle Jeffreys at the city’s magistrates’ court, who remanded him in custody.

Robert Hardy-mcbride, defending, applied for Viorel to be granted bail on condition that he stayed out of Forest Rec and Gregory Boulevard.

But this was refused by the judge, who told Viorel: “The matter is very serious. It has to go to the crown court to be dealt with.”

The case will be on the crown court list for July 27 and Viorel was told he would appear via a video link.
