Tractor Boys look interested in move for Reds Mckay

-

NOTTINGHAM Forest winger Barrie Mckay has caught the eye of Championship rivals Ipswich Town.

The Scot looked close to joining Greek side Olympiacos earlier this summer and has also been linked with Reading, as well as apparently being courted by teams in Germany and Russia.

But it is understood the Tractor Boys have now expressed an interest in the 23-year-old.

Mckay is unlikely to be central to Reds boss Aitor Karanka’s first-team plans this coming season, having barely featured for the Spaniard in the second half of last term.

He made just four appearances under Karanka, having made 28 in total for Forest since his switch from Rangers 12 months ago.

And a summer of strengthening is likely to have pushed him further down the pecking order at the City Ground, with Portuguese trio Joao Carvalho, Diogo Goncalves and Gil Dias being added to the Reds’ ranks, along with defender Michael Dawson.
