Customers should note the giveaway is on July 3 only, from 8.30am, covers one free waffle dish per person and is not available with takeaway or delivery. YOUNG dancers and musicians from across Nottinghamshire will be on stage at Nottingham Playhouse tonight performing alongside dance professionals.

Tom Dale Company’s Urban Explorers, which premiered last year, promises “evocative, free flowing urban contemporary dance” borne out of the UK’S electronic dance music scene.

The annual showcase offers youngsters the opportunity to work alongside Dale’s cast of dancers and this year the company has taken inspiration from ideas about harvesting new energy sources, futuristic gardens and the collaboration between the organic, digital and mechanical worlds.

Groups from across Nottinghamshire have been working on the project since March, creating pieces of contemporary dance fuelled by urban music – grime, trap, dubstep, and drum and bass.

Luke Rainford, 15, of Mansfield, said: “The fact that the project is so widespread across the Nottinghamshire area means that there is an immense amount of people performing in the final show and this will allow for some brand new connections for future collaborations in the dance community.”

Said Dale: “We perform all over the world but have only performed a handful of times in Nottingham. We want this to become an annual offer so that people can get to know us and have a deeper engagement in the work as we grow the project into other art forms.”

The company created the project in partnership with Inspire (culture, learning and libraries for Nottinghamshire), and successfully gained new NPO status from Arts Council England.

Performance begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 (£6 concessions) from box office on 0115 941 9419.
