NOTTINGHAM WATERFRONT FESTIVAL

THE Waterfront Festival is returning to Nottingham once again this year.

The theme for this this year’s event will be old-school sci-fi, which means “sonic spacemen”, “cyborg wastemen” and homemade rockets will all be descending on the city this August.

Set to appear at the event his year are musical acts including Bru-c, Phattfoxx, Widows, 1st Blood and Rikki Marr’s Graffiti Battle, who will be bringing 13 hours of music to the Canalhouse pub this summer.

This year’s festival will be supporting Nottingham City Hospital’s Wolfson Cystic Fibrosis Centre, which cares for young patients suffering from cystic fibrosis by creating a home in a hospital environment.

The event will also support Emmanuel House, which provides support and services for homeless and vulnerable adults in Nottingham. All proceeds will be split equally between the two charities.

The Waterfront Festival will take place on August 18 at Canalhouse, Canal Street, Nottingham, with doors opening at 12.30pm.

Under-18s are allowed at the festival until 7pm if accompanied by an adult, with under-14s gaining entry for free.

■■ Tickets cost £7 in advance and £10 on the door. Advance tickets can be bought directly from the Canalhouse or online from waterfrontnotts.com.
