BIG STAR’S LITTLE STAR
Tonight, ITV, 7pm STEPHEN MULHERN hosts as the offspring of three more celebrities spill the beans about their famous parents.
Tonight’s trio of stars putting their reputations on the line are model and one-time Strictly champion Abbey Clancy, Coronation Street actor Tristan Gemmill and property guru Sarah Beeny.
As usual, it’s all for a good cause, with the pairs taking home a very special Big Star’s Little Star trophy, as well as money for their chosen charities.
FAKE OR FORTUNE?
Tomorrow, BBC1, 9pm FIONA BRUCE and Philip Mould examine a still life that may have been painted by prolific artist William Nicholson, but which has been rejected by leading experts on his work.
They discover a useful source of evidence in Nicholson’s own paint box, but learn that it may have been connected to one of the 20th century’s greatest art crimes.
GREAT BRITISH MENU
Monday, BBC2, 7.30pm
LAST year, the Great British Menu asked some of Britain’s top professional chefs to come up with dishes inspired by Wimbledon, leading to lots of modern twists on strawberry and cream. But what will they create in this new series, which finds them competing to create a course at a banquet celebrating 70 years of the NHS? There are some clues in the opening episode, which sees the North-east regional heat get under way with the starter course.
Chefs Danny Parker and Dan Fletcher both draw inspiration from the restorative powers of the humble cup of tea, but David Coulson is taking a different tack with I Signed Up Today, It Takes Two Minutes, an offal-based tribute to the organ donation scheme.
LONG LOST FAMILY
Tuesday, ITV, 9pm
ANGELA BRENNAN believed she was adopted, but at 18 her mother revealed she had an older sister, also called Angela, who had been put up for adoption by her parents. Cameras follow Angela’s search for her namesake sibling. Davina Mccall and Nicky Campbell also examine the story of Bronwen Hook. When her son, Mark, was born,
she did her best to raise him, but Bronwen found being responsible for a baby hard, and gave him up for adoption.
She’s always hoped she would see Mark again. Will she finally get her chance?
ORANGUTAN JUNGLE SCHOOL Wednesday, Channel 4, 8pm
HERE we follow the lives of orphan orangutans in the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rescue Centre in Borneo, Indonesia, the largest orangutan rehabilitation centre in the world. The programme looks at the work of a team of devoted staff as they help orangutans that have been displaced from their habitat or kept as illegal pets learn the skills necessary to survive for their return to the wild.
CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER: LIVE LAUNCH Thursday, Channel 5, 9pm
FROM the Jack Dee-winning opening series in 2001, through to the notorious Shilpa Shetty affair in 2007, Celebrity Big Brother was a roller-coaster ride of fun and controversy.
The whole thing kicks off again with the chirpy, chatty
Emma Willis at the helm, and if this launch show leaves you hungry for answers (like who are these alleged celebs?), then all will be revealed in the spin-off show with Rylan Clark-neal straight after.
GARDENERS’ WORLD Friday, BBC2, 8pm
IF YOU’RE a little bored with your back yard and want to make it feel more cultured and exotic, then this edition is not to be missed.
Monty Don visits a Hindu temple in Neasden as the team celebrates South Asian influences on British gardens.
The amiable host will learn more about the fusion of traditional Hindu Mandir and north-west London suburbia.
