Sport unifies us and has a massive impact
ALEA CASINO BELIEVES IN SUPPORTING LOCAL EVENTS
AN event which celebrates sporting endeavour at all levels, the Nottingham Post Sports Awards attracts a wide range of individuals, all of whom share the same passion for sport, and brings them together for one special night.
The event is also a place where the world of sport and business meet with local businesses from the Nottingham region placing their support and sponsorship behind the event and its categories.
One business who have long been involved with the awards is Alea Casino who offer an extensive range of interactive casino games, including Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, Electronic Roulette and Slots.
It is also home to the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, presenting diners with a stylish and elegant experience.
The casino is the official Event Partner for the awards in 2018. Sharing his insight into the merging world of sport and business is Steve Glynn, the venue director.
“Sport can have a huge impact on the local community and businesses,” Steve says.
“It enables people from all backgrounds across the city to come together. It unifies us and makes the community stronger.
“We believe that by supporting local events such as the Nottingham Post Sports Awards and Sportsaid, local businesses like Alea Nottingham can play a pivotal role in building solid futures for our wider community.”
The casino is a prominent part of the Nottinghamshire community and place a large amount of emphasis on supporting local events and individuals.
And, their support doesn’t begin and end with the Nottingham Post Sports Awards, as Steve explained.
“Alea Nottingham also has an ongoing commitment to Sportsaid, a charity that helps young sports people overcome the financial challenges they face in their bid to become Britain’s next generation of sporting heroes,” he added.
‘I wouldn’t say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one’ - Who will be this year’s best boss?
“This year, Alea Nottingham has sponsored Georgy Boyce, one of Britain’s highest hopes in cricket.
“Georgy received £1,000 in sponsorship from Alea Nottingham which will support her with ongoing travel costs, enable her to compete more, as well as help with general living expenses, all of which will put her in the best position to perform at international level.”
Alea Casino will be joining the hundreds of guests at the official awards evening on Thursday, October 25, at the East Midlands Conference Centre.
An extremely inclusive event, the awards are fantastic at bringing people of all ages, abilities, and genders together and it is this community spirit which sees the event continue to rise.
Last year’s event was a huge success and had a whole host of famous faces from Nottingham’s sporting community in attendance.
With individuals, teams and clubs all acknowledged for their success, one of the standout awards on the night is always the Lifetime Achievement award. Taking place at the East Midlands Conference Centre, this year’s event will be hosted by badminton star Gail Emms. Last year Nottingham Forest legend John Mcgovern received a Lifetime Achievement Award and Ellie Downie was named Sportswoman of the Year.
The ball recently got rolling on the nominations for Nottingham Post Sports Awards and anyone that believes their sporting achievements deserve recognition can get involved.
