Fancy a pigs-in-blankets cuppa?

Nottingham Post - - NEWS -

EVEN before Nottingham’s “world first” pigs-in-blankets pop-up shop opened, it had a celebrity fan.

Pop star Connor Ball, of the Vamps, gave the venture a thumbsup on Twitter ahead of its launch at PRYZM nightclub last night.

Available during opening hours of the Lower Parliament Street nightspot, the former customer services kiosk will be selling hoodies and T-shirts with a slogan playing on Mariah Carey’s iconic All I want For Christmas Is You tune, piggy socks, pigs in blankets-flavoured teabags and crisps as well as cones of the seasonal snack itself.

Starting at 10 for £3.50, the “pigs” include a gravy, cranberry sauce, mint sauce or apple sauce topping.

Cheese is an extra 50p or you can have them stuffed in a baguette for £4.50. There are veggie options available too.

The concept is the brainchild of PRYZM’S deputy general manager Tom Dodd, who said: “We know pigs in blankets have risen in popularity this year and with the Christmas market on our doorstep offering numerous Christmas snacks, it made sense for us to give these porky delights their time in the spotlight.”
