Players’ chance to be ‘a hero’
NEAL Ardley says Notts County’s players have the chance to become a “hero for the night” if they can upset local rivals Mansfield Town in their derby clash today.
Notts are hoping that under new boss Ardley, they can finally start to make progress in their fight for survival, with the Stags clash being the first league game of his reign.
Asked if a victory could be the spark Notts needed to reignite their season, Ardley said: “If you get a result, then the fans will, after a tough start to the season, jump on board.
“I am sure everyone will be a hero for the night if we can get a positive result and then, hopefully, we can take it into next game.
“If we do manage to get a result, we would be three games unbeaten. You have to respect a point because we have a target and we don’t want to fall too far behind it.”
