Space freed up for more loans

-

NOTTS County have confirmed Rob Milsom’s loan move from Crawley Town has become permanent.

The former Rotherham United midfielder joined the club on the last day of the transfer window in August, when he was reunited with then boss Harry Kewell.

Notts announced when Milsom arrived that the switch would become permanent in January and the Magpies have confirmed the clause in his deal became active yesterday.

Milsom has been a mainstay in Notts’ midfield since rejoining the club, having only been released by previous manager Kevin Nolan in the summer.

He has made 24 appearances so far and scored one goal, in the 2-1 win over Crewe Alexandra in September.

Now that Milsom is a permanent member of Notts’ first team it frees up space for another loan signing.

Only five are allowed in a matchday squad but Notts have two positions available, with Ryan Schofield, Nathan Thomas and Ben Barclay currently on loan from Huddersfield Town, Sheffield United and Brighton & Hove Albion respectively.

The club is expected to make further additions in the January transfer window, with Notts aiming to strengthen their attack as well as the defence.

Boss Neal Ardley has already signed Jim O’brien on a permanent deal, following his departure from Bradford City.
