Fans wonder about reinforcements and returning players

available in terms of loans and permanent deals.

They obviously got O’brien in permanently but with Thomas, Barclay and Schofield in on loan, there’s room for two more.

Robert: Saturday’s defeat was absolutely gutting. If Notts don’t beat Yeovil on Saturday, do you think that’s it for any chance of staying up?

If they lose the game on Saturday, the gap could be at least seven points. Plus Yeovil also have games in hand.

I am keeping everything crossed that Notts can pull it off. I want them to.

I am desperate for them to. Not just for the supporters but for the staff behind the scenes who people don’t see on a daily basis but pour their heart and soul into the club.

It’s going to need one hell of a fight-back. But it can begin this weekend!

Andy Chandler: I’d like to ask for more insight into Paul Hart’s contribution behind the scenes. I am sure with his experience, Alan Hardy had good reason to appoint him but he is very low profile and I don’t currently understand the value added when we have a talented manager and back room staff. Do we really need a Director of Football at this time? Would that funding not be better invested in players or reducing debt?

Paul was brought to the football club to oversee a wide range of aspects but also to be a conduit between the manager and the chairman.

You have to remember that there is not a great deal of football experience on the club board and Hart’s involvement both with academies and senior football makes him a fountain of knowledge.

I would not underestimate Paul Hart’s value and there is a reason why Nathan Jones wants to take him to Stoke City.

Maggie 55: With Neal Ardley saying he’s having problems with the lack of passion and quality in the current squad, do you think more arrivals in the transfer window can solve this or do you believe, as his post-match interview against Colchester suggested, the problem is too big to rectify?

I think new signings can certainly help but the squad has become too big and too bloated and I do wonder about the impact of that on team spirit.

The dressing room seems to be non-confrontational. I don’t think it’s the type where players will pin others up against the wall.

I do fear that some of them have given up and look like they don’t want to be here but they have to remember that their own careers are at stake here.

If things carry on as they are, how many of them are going to be at Football League clubs next season? There will be one or two but the rest?

I don’t think the gravity of it has hit home, but it needs to.
