LEARNING IS GREAT FUN... OH YES IT IS!

Engage with the arts and get in the panto spirit

-

FAMILIES looking for fun or educational ‘at home’ activities for their children, with schools being closed, may like a little bit of help from the British Pantomime Academy.

The organisation is offering youngsters aged eight to 18 the chance to engage with the arts, drama, language and script writing in one-hour courses, available online.

The ‘Kids Masterclass Workshop’ is designed to introduce eight to 14-year-olds or those aged 14-18 to all elements of the theatrical world.

The interactive online workshop features classes and techniques where kids can learn about the traditions and craftsmanship of theatre, and there are also options for one off celebrity-driven masterclasses to learn skills like ventriloquism with Britain’s Got Talent finalist Steve Hewlett.

The British Pantomime Academy was founded in 2019 offering workshops and courses which were taken online in 2020, with a focus on providing youngsters with fun and interactive sessions to keep the magic of theatre alive while the opportunity to go along in person is not available.

Kev Orkian, founder of the British Pantomime Academy says: “After-school clubs, extracurricular activities, performing arts classes and academies have had to close and, as we now know, this may continue for some time.

“Many young people enjoyed and benefited from our classes last year and we want to continue to support families and children to learn about, and have fun in, all elements of the performing arts which is so important to their growth and well-being.”
