Bostock signs for Doncaster

-

FORMER Nottingham Forest midfielder John Bostock has sealed a surprise move to League One promotion-chasers Doncaster Rovers on an 18-month contract.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace player was a free agent after leaving French club Toulouse.

The move represents an excellent signing for the League One club, although it was not completed in time to make his debut against AFC Wimbledon last night.

Bostock was on loan with Forest last season and made nine appearances before heading back to France, having left Toulouse by mutual consent in October.

Rovers boss Darren Moore said: “I’m really pleased to get him in. He’s an exceptional player and one we’re really pleased to have in the club.

“He’s a player that fits in with the culture and DNA that we’ve tried to bring to this club over the last season and a half.

“I know John personally. I’ve known him before this and we’ve spoken.

“We’ve had contact earlier on in the season and we’ve taken the opportunity when he returned from France. I know the situation he was in.

“For us to get him here and the work we’ve done, it’s a credit to everyone in the club.

“I’d like to thank John personally for giving us the opportunity to work with him and go forward.

“The platform is there for him to play some real games. We’re trying to get his levels of fitness up to a standard that we feel is really going to benefit him as and when he’s available to play.

“When that is, he will be a wonderful addition for us.”
