Reds ace says Rams game is only ‘focus’

-

RYAN Yates says his only focus is on Derby County rather than a surprise late promotion push for Nottingham Forest.

With Forest now ten points off the play-offs and fourth in the Championship form table over the last six games, Yates was asked how far the Reds can go this season.

Speaking on Sky Sports after scoring the winner at Rotherham, he admitted he is desperate to keep his place in the side against the

Rams on Friday night, after being recalled against the Millers following injury.

“It’s the cliche, but you’ve got to focus on the next game. We’ve got Derby on Friday night. We’re not looking beyond that,” he said.

“I absolutely love that game. I’ll be buzzing if I’m lucky enough to get a shirt. Can’t wait. There’s a real buzz (about the team after recent results). We went through a sticky patch in the first half of the season.

“We played well in some games and didn’t get the results we deserved. If you keep playing well the results will come.

“The manager has tried to improve us every day. We don’t get too high or low.

“We’ll be a bit disappointed with the performance in the dressing room. We didn’t play that well but it’s about winning games, especially when we’re down there.

“It’s embarrassing Nottingham Forest at the bottom of the table, we need to put that right.”
