THE Nottingham headquarters of credit firm Experian will go through a major refurbishment as the company moves the majority of its staff into flexible working.

The company, which has a large base at the Sir John Peace Building in NG2 Business Park, is shifting its staff onto new contracts which will see 81 percent become “hybrid” workers.

The changes, which will affect its 2,222 staff based in the city, come as the company looks to alter its working patterns, boost productivity and improve work-life balance for staff.

As part of the overhaul the company plans to turn the Nottingham hub into an “effective and engaging hybrid working space”, allowing staff to work ‘in a way that suits them best.’

When Government guidelines allow, the hub at NG2 will support face-to-face meetings, workshops and hybrid employment, with some workers working both at home and in the office.

Jose-luiz Rossi, CEO of Experian UK, says: “Over the last year our employees have shown incredible dedication, resilience and creativity in delivering their work in a remote environment.

“Remote working has an important role to play in a post-covid world and offering this level of flexibility on a permanent basis will allow us to retain and hire the best talent in the future.

“Talent isn’t dependent on location. We want to hire the right people for the right jobs, regardless of where they may be, and we want to support our existing employees to work in the way that suits them the best.”

Experian has confirmed that the majority of its UK employees will now work as ‘hybrid workers,’ where they will be encouraged to ‘work your way.’

Others will operate as permanent home workers, while a small number of roles in data and security will continue to be office-based.

“Flexibility is about more than just remote working. It means being able to spend time together in person as well,” Mr Rossi added.

“Physical Experian offices remain a crucial part of our strategy.

“Some people prefer to work in the office full-time, for a variety of reasons, and we will continue to support that.

“We see this model as a chance to have the best of all worlds: meeting in person to build relationships; to socialise; to generate creative ideas; or problem-solve; and moving to virtual and remote session where that level of interaction is not so critical.”
