Organisers ‘devastated’ as Splendour is postponed
THE organisers of this year’s Splendour Festival have made the “difficult decision” to postpone this year’s event.
The annual event in Wollaton Park was set to go ahead on July 24, with Richard Ashcroft and Supergrass to headline.
But with the lifting of the lockdown restrictions delayed until July 19, organisers have decided to call it off.
In a statement, organisers, the DHP Family, said: “Following the announcement that lockdown easing is being delayed, we’ve now made the difficult decision to postpone Splendour Festival.
“We’re devastated that we’re having to postpone for a second year running. We know this will be disappointing to everyone who had plans to attend, but also for all the artists, contractors and staff who count on Splendour for work. We can only say how sorry we are.” The plans have now been pushed back until 2022 in the hope that acts from this year’s line-up will be available to perform.
Purchased tickets will remain valid for th next festival. For more information go to splendourfestival.com/faqs
