Too little provision for disabled visitors

-

NOTTINGHAM Castle’s web site mentions being wheelchair friendly. I enquired how many wheelchairs were provided free of charge.

I was told two! I cannot believe £30 million has been spent and yet only two wheelchairs have been provided.

Visiting Madrid four years ago, not only were many galleries and museums free but all had at least 10 chairs to use.

Disabled people were able to leave their heavier chairs and use the lighter gallery ones which was really useful for those like myself with Parkinson’s disease who tire very easily and being able to access mobility chairs was really useful.

Yet again we appear to provide for all but very little for the disabled.

Mrs Susan Screaton, Farndon.
