Where to grab refreshing food and drink
SCORES of pubs and restaurants are dotted along the route of this year’s Robin Hood Half Marathon and we’ve put together a list of those offering refreshments to spectators and the runners themselves once they’ve put 13.1 gruelling miles behind them. ■■The Embankment, Arkwright Street

Part of the Wetherspoon chain, it has a traditional reasonably-priced food and drinks menu. Open from 8am on the day, initially serving breakfasts, moving on to lunch menu at 12.
■■The Southbank Bar, Trent Bridge
Another one near the starting line, the venue offers a wide range of beers, with a cocktail menu served later in the day. Opens at 11am. ■■Canalhouse, Canal Street
Further along the route, this venue has a canal extending into the Grade Ii-listed building, complete with resident narrow boats. Open from noon. ■■Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem, Brewhouse Yard

Another one close to the castle, boasting an extensive food and drinks menu and also opening at 12am. ■■Crafty Crow, Friar Lane
