Ladbaby hoping to make it four in a row – with a little help from his friends
ELTON JOHN AND ED SHEERAN ON BOARD FOR NEW CHRISTMAS SONG
LADBABY is aiming for the Christmas Number One for the fourth consecutive year – with the help of Elton John and Ed Sheeran.
Their new song is called Sausage Rolls For Everyone.
Mark Hoyle and his wife Roxanne first took the coveted Christmas No.1 spot in 2018 with We Built This city... On Sausage Rolls”. They made it two years in a row with I Love Sausage Rolls in 2019, followed by Don’t Stop Me Eatin – an himage to Journey’s 1981 hit – in 2020.
The Nottingham duo join The Beatles and The Spice Girls as groups that have landed three Christmas Number Ones in a row.
Now they’re aiming to surpass that with two of the biggest names in the music business alongside them.
An announcement on the ladbabyofficial Instagram page said: “The brand new @ladbabyofficial Christmas song Sausage Rolls For Everyone featuring Ed Sheeran and Elton John is available for PRE-ORDER NOW !!!!
“100% of profits from the song will go towards the work of the @ trusselltrust food banks. #Sausagerollsforeveryone.”
Elton John said in a video on the page: “It’s time to bring back some Christmas magic with the power of sausage rolls!”
The Hoyles are keen to use their social media platform of more than 12 million followers for good.
Mark and Roxanne announced they were going for a historical fourth No.1 yesterday morning on Facebook alongside Sheeran and Sir Elton.
Last Christmas, Sheeran reached out to Ladbaby on Instagram offering support and between them a plan was hatched for this momentous Christmas number one attempt.
Mark and Roxanne said: “We always said we’d only go for a fourth number one if we could make it bigger and raise even more money for the Trussell Trust.
“We approached Ed and Elton with an idea to do something that had never been done: to combine the music world with the social media world and join forces to make a difference to the people in the UK that need it most!
“Ed and Elton are pop royalty and they’ve both had huge success at Christmas, so we’re honoured and excited to be coming together to help families this Christmas and bring back some true Christmas spirit with the power of sausage rolls!
