Chicken and cocktails on menu for Cornerhouse
TWO new names for Nottingham’s buzzing food and drink scene are set to arrive at one of the city centre’s leisure hotspots.
The Mixologist and Wingstop will be taking over empty units in the Cornerhouse (pictured).
Wingstop will be moving into the space left behind by Pizza Hut in Forman Street. The restaurant closed in October.
The American chain, which has 18 sites in the UK, specialises in chicken wings, boneless wings, tenders and “Big Flavour Burger” filled with tenders, crunchy slaw, pickles and house ranch in a toasted brioche bun.
Chicken fans can choose from ten different rubs to spice up the meat.
Little has been revealed about the Mixologist other than it’s a cocktail bar.
It will be opening in the former home of Chiquito.
The Tex Mex restaurant on the first floor didn’t reopen after last year’s first lockdown, with its permanent closure confirmed after the company went into administration.
Both deals were secured by Nottingham property consultants Box Property.
Director Frankie Labbate said: “We have been working hard to bring new and fresh operators to the Cornerhouse and this is the first of a raft of new lettings to open very soon.
“The Mixologist is another great addition to Nottingham’s premier leisure scheme which will complement other tenants within the Cornerhouse.
“Wingstop are an amazing international operator which aligns with our ethos and brings something completely new and fresh to both the Cornerhouse and Nottingham as a city.
“Box Property was bought on board to leasing the Cornerhouse for our forward-thinking approach and our track record to attract better quality and new on trend occupiers to freshen up and improve what is already a top-quality leisure scheme.”
