SAM SLOCOMBE:

Made some basic errors, including for Altrincham’s goal, which, added to some hurried distribution, shows he is not yet back to his best. Produced a fine save to deny Jake Moult. 5/10

JAYDEN RICHARDSON:

A second outing for the Nottingham Forest loanee and built on an impressive debut, including another assist for Kyle Wootton’s goal. 7/10

RICHARD BRINDLEY:

One or two moments when he let his concentration lapse but was more solid in the second half. 6/10 CONNELL RAWLINSON:

Good to see the popular defender back in action after injury problems and while his passing was not perfect he will have an important role to play as the season develops. 6/10

KYLE CAMERON:

Notts’ captain has stated his desire to win this competition and backed it up with a committed performance in defence and attack. 7/10

CONNOR PARSONS:

The Wycombe Wanderers loanee impressed off the bench the previous weekend and constantly caused problems with his pace and power on Notts’ left. 7/10

FRANK VINCENT:

Plays with a smile and non-stop running opens up opportunities for his team-mates. 7/10

MATT PALMER:

Just repeat what was said after the last match and the one before that, etc - Notts’ Mr Consistency in the engine room. 8/10

KAIRO MITCHELL:

A rare outing for a striker who has pace and power but needs to add goals to his repertoire. 5/10

RUBEN RODRIGUES:

His early passing was off target but grew into the game. 7/10

KYLE WOOTTON:

May have been given a breather if Tuesday’s game with Chesterfield had not been postponed but in this goal-hungry form will be disappointed to have been withdrawn at half-time. 7/10

SUBSTITUTES

ED FRANCIS (FOR WOOTTON, 45):

Would probably have started but for the Chesterfield postponement and enjoyed his chance to play in Notts’ midfield for the second half. 6/10

ALEX LACEY (FOR RAWLINSON, 64):

Had to get up to speed quickly as Altrincham gave it a real go towards the end. 6/10

CAL ROBERTS (FOR VINCENT 79):

Showed nice touches but not enough time to influence the game. 6/10
