Areas record spike in cases as Covid infections continue to spread
SIX Nottingham areas have recorded rapidly rising Covid rates higher than neighbouring cities.
The neighbourhoods most affected across the city have recorded hundreds of confirmed Covid cases in the last seven days, Home Office data shows.
Across the city, six areas have recorded worrying case rates - one of which has surpassed the 3,000 per 100,000 people milestone.
Areas across Nottingham are categorised by their case rate per 100,000 people in the last seven days - with the most affected suburbs highlighted in black and dark purple on a Government interactive map.
There are now six areas across the city that have turned black, with the rest of the city coloured in dark purple.
University Park, Lenton Abbey and Jubilee Campus remains the most affected neighbourhood in Nottingham with 3,141.8 cases per 100,000 people.
According to the latest statistics for the seven days to December 19, this area has recorded 363 confirmed cases.
It is followed closely by Lenton & Dunkirk, which currently has 324 confirmed cases, reaching a case rate of 2,873.6 per 100,000 people. The figures below reveal the latest Covid rates for new infections in the most affected areas in Nottingham.
