There is something really really odd about this place and I want to get to the bottom of it.

A NOTTINGHAM grandmother saiys she has resorted to sleeping in every room of her flat – including the shower – to get away from a mysterious beam of light.

Paula Marinoz, of Turnstone Wharf in Castle Marina, said the lights shine into her property more than 10 times a day, and she regularly hears high and low pitch noises.

The 49-year-old, who began renting the property in June 2020, said the problem started straight away.

“It’s absolutely ridiculous, it’s been happening since the day I moved,” she said. “It’s beyond a joke. It happens in every room of the property.”

“I hear a high and low pitch frequency every so often too.

“It puts me off so much I have slept in every single room, even in my shower tray and on the kitchen floor.”

Ms Marinoz ruled out the possibility of passing traffic as her street is a dead end, adding: “It happens in my bathroom too, which doesn’t have a window.”

She said she has had both her eyes and ears tested, with both results coming back “100 per cent”.

Despite contacting her landlord, the police and her local MP and councillor, Ms Marinoz says she is no closer to finding out what is behind the strange goings on. “There is something really really odd about this place and I want to get to the bottom of it,” she continued.

“I know we have caves underneath the city, but that doesn’t explain the light. I know that anybody who has lived here has not lived here for very long.”

Ms Marinoz, who suffers with fibromyalgia, says her health is getting worse as a result.

“I want something done about it. It’s affecting my health, I am usually quite a calm and happy person.

“Because of the stress and other things I have developed asthma. I’ve got to the point where I’ll sit on the toilet and drift off to sleep there.”

She is also trying to move out of the flat, after moving from shared accommodation.

“I have been trying to get a bidding number from the council, I’m looking for somewhere else to rent – I can’t live here.”

The Post has attempted to contact the landlord.
