THE widow of a man who died in a crash wants his “last wish to come true” and his funeral procession to be led by bikers.

Stephen Holleworth was driving a delivery van in Suffolk on April 25 when he was in a collision with a lorry.

Stephen, who was 48 and lived with wife Michelle in Old Basford, died at the scene on the A134 in Ingham. Suffolk. Police, ambulance and fire crews all attended.

Kalin Angelov, 41, of Pleven, Bulgaria, appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on April 27 charged with causing death by careless driving and his case has been sent to Ipswich Crown Court with a date to be con- firmed. Michelle, 44, described Stephen as a “loving, caring, generous man”, and Michelle’s daughter Kayleigh, 19, echoed her thoughts.

Kayleigh said: “It’s devastating. I’ve been broken into a million pieces. He was the best person to come on the Earth, He had a heart of gold. Life isn’t the same without him. I don’t know how I’m going to get through it without him.

“When I look back on my memories with my dad, there is not one thing I’d want to change, everything was perfect for all of us. My favourite memory is when I was younger, in 2016, when he came on a ride at the Goose Fair together with me as I was scared, and

I then got off and left him on it to go around on his own, and came back saying he’d only got on for me.”

Michelle and Stephen met through an online dating app on April 29, 2015, moved in together within four months and married on May 19, 2018. They moved to Old Basford around 18 months ago. In 2017, they set up a company called Platinum Sports Nutrition, which sells supplements.

Stephen was delivering to a gym when the crash happened. The business has since been temporarily closed.

Ahead of Stephen’s funeral at Bramcote Crematorium tomorrow at 2pm, Michelle says she wants to grant him his final wish.

She said: “All the way through our marriage, I’ve tried to make all his wishes and dreams come true, and it would mean a great deal to me to make his last wish come true. He was a keen biker, and having wanted a bike since his teenage years, I bought him a motorbike for Christmas in 2020. “He passed his test first time in October 2021, but he always wanted to ride as part of a group. And to lead the procession from Old Basford to the crematorium, I would love a group of bikers to do just that. “Stephen will be missed hugely, he really will, and he’d make everyone smile who met him. I’ve got some medical, disability and mobility issues, and he would always care for me and put me before him. “When we first met, we just connected. We had everything in common. There was not a single day through our relationship when we ever argued.” Stephen had his first motorbike track day booked in on April 26. Mrs Holleworth and their four daughters – Lauren, 27, Ashleigh, 26, Rachel, 26, and 19-year-old Kayleigh – have set up a tribute Gofundme page to raise money for his funeral.
