Stock of collapsed furniture outfit to be sold at auctions

-

A NOTTINGHAM-BASED auctioneer has been appointed to sell the stock of Made.com following the furniture company’s collapse.

John Pye, which has its head office in Radford Road, will auction off the online firm’s inventory after it went into administration last week.

Thousands of upholstery, home furniture, outdoor and leisure, home accessories and lighting items will be included in the sales.

The auction firm, which will sell the items on its website from November 21, said it presented a rare opportunity for customers to bypass growing waiting times for furniture. “While it is an incredibly difficult situation, it does also present buyers with the rare opportunity to bypass industry-wide, growing wait times for furniture delivery,” said Trevor

Palethorpe, joint head of John Pye Business and Property.

“Made.com enthusiasts and customers have the chance to add new home pieces and buy furniture of the highest quality, at bargain prices, just in time for Christmas.”

Adam Pye, managing director at John Pye, added: “John Pye Auctions is deeply saddened by the nature of this case, having worked as close partners with Made.com Design Limited for over six years. We’ve formed relationships with many staff members. We wish all the very best to everyone negatively affected.

“Thanks to our long-standing partnership with Made.com Design Limited, we have a customer base who are familiar with buying this type of stock, so we hope to be able to realise a positive return for creditors.”
