And tickets sold out, with 16,000 fans expected

NOTTS County have sold out their National League fixture against Yeovil Town at Meadow Lane on Saturday following a huge uptake in ticket sales.

The Magpies hold the record for having the largest attendance in English football’s fifth tier, with 12,843 packed inside Meadow Lane for their 2-0 win over Solihull Moors last season.

Now Luke Williams’ side are expected to be backed by over 16,000 fans on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies chief executive Jason Turner said: “Following the incredible success of last year’s cut-price fixture, which drew a record National League crowd of 12,843 to Meadow Lane, we were always confident of improving on that figure this time around.

“But to sell out our home areas four days ahead of kick-off has far exceeded our expectations.

“On behalf of the club I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who will be with us on Saturday, and sorry to those who didn’t purchase their tickets in time.

“We’ve done everything we can to safely accommodate as many home fans as possible and, while incredibly strong sales over the last few days suggest we could have sold many thousands more, we’re delighted with the figure we’ve achieved.

“The exact attendance figure will be revealed during the match but everyone with a ticket can rest assured they’ll be part of a wonderful, record-breaking occasion!

“In the coming days the club will be emailing all ticket holders with some very important information ahead of their visit. Key to this will be to arrive as early as possible, with queues likely close to kick-off.

“To ensure the match starts at 3pm, please enter the stadium as close to 1.30pm as possible and soak up the pre-match atmosphere!”
