Death in flat probed by coroner

A CORONER expressed her condolence­s to all who knew a 33-year-old man who died at a flat in New Windmill Court, Sneinton Dale, Sneinton.

Laurinda Bower, area coroner for Nottingham­shire, opened and adjourned an inquest into the death of Thomas James Mccormack, who died on May 13 this year.

For the record, she noted his date of death and the date of birth as October 5, 1988. Mr Mccormack was discovered at a flat in New Windmill Cout, and identified by a support worker at Nottingham Community Housing Associatio­n, who attended the scene, to a coroner’s officer.

The provisiona­l cause of death was given at the Nottingham Council House hearing as “effects of ethanol and codeine”. The inquest has now been adjourned for the completion of further inquiries, and will resume on a date to be fixed.
