Man denies ‘hammer’ burglary

A MAN has denied aggravated burglary with a hammer in Bircotes.

Brett May, 32, of Scrooby Road, Bircotes, denied the allegation when he appeared before Nottingham Crown Court yesterday.

It was alleged that May committed the offence on September 6, when an address in White House Road was burgled and watches, jewellery, a gaming device, clothing and a passport were stolen. May, who is remanded in custody, further denied a separate allegation of damaging windows on September 2.

A trial date was decided for the week of March 20, with a three-day length. Judge William Harbage KC said preparation needed to be done for the trial and defence statements prepared.
