Tories may have cooked their goose

-

THE Chancellor’s Autumn Statement concluded that we would have to pay and dearly for the mess this Government has made of our financial stability and reputation.

The Chancellor thinks by delaying the worst until after the next election will make a cause for who wants to win the election, considering the state the country is likely to be in.

We also have the threat that councils have the approval to raise the council tax by five per cent, which will be another increased cost we will have to pay. We are also greeted by an increase of 12 pence on a litre of petrol. Is it any wonder that people are striking, not always for a large pay rise, but for survival? Now we have the thought that letters may only be delivered five days a week.

I still welcome the enquiry into the shambles of the coronavirus pandemic and the money thrown away, again at the expense of the public purse. Again, it is those on low incomes or benefits which suffer the most. I suspect this Government has cooked the golden goose in terms of the majority it currently holds, which may dissolve at the next election.

I would say to my Conservative MP do not to put any electioneering leaflets in my letterbox, but then again if the paper is soft enough, I may have another use, to make some small saving?
