- By OLIVER KING

NOTTS County have been drawn against Chorley in the third round of the FA Trophy.

The Magpies were ball number five in yesterday’s draw and Luke Williams’ side will be at home for the fixture against Andy Preece’s team.

Ties for the third round of the competition will take place on Saturday, December 17, sandwiched inbetween two home games in the National League against Gateshead and Barnet.

The north section of the draw produced only one all-national League encounter, with Scunthorpe United drawn against Wrexham while Chesterfield face Coalville Town, the team that knocked out the Magpies in their FA Cup fourth round qualifying match.

Holders Bromley will begin thei defence of the Trophy with an away trip against Bath City.

There are a number of all-national League ties.

Southend United host Boreham Wood, Woking are at home against Eastleigh and Yeovil Town welcome Dorking Wanderers.

Third round winners receive £4,500 from the FA’S prize pot, with the losers earning £1,250.

It will be the first time since 2019 that Notts and Chorley have faced each other, with their most recent encounter coming in the fifth tier with Wes Thomas, Nathan Tyson, Enzio Boldewijn and Kristian Dennis on target for Notts that day.
