City council a disgrace over Castle money

NOTTINGHAM City Council leader David Mellen says that loans given to the Nottingham Castle Trust which has gone into liquidation will not be paid back.

I feel that the council will recuperate the money via higher council tax bills and fines imposed on motorists etc.

It would be a devious thing to do as it was council taxpayers’ money etc loaned out in the first place.

It was a terrible, horrendous waste of £30 million which could have been better spent on social care or on the homeless. Shame on Nottingham City Council.
