A FOUR-YEAR-OLD girl is “devastated” after losing her favourite cuddly toy in the city centre.

The fluffy teddy bear, which has “baby girl” written on its feet, has been the child’s most valued toy since she was eight months old.

Finlay Rice and her daughter were walking from the top of King Street towards the Victoria Centre at around 3pm on November 6. They stopped at Greggs to buy chocolate bars and a hot chocolate.

But after they crossed the street, Ms Rice realised that the bear – Ted Ted – had disappeared.

“My daughter never leaves the house without her teddy.

“Every time we go out I have to keep an eye on her, as well as the teddy.

“She absolutely loves it. “She has had a meltdown since it’s gone.”

Ms Rice, of Bilborough, said she bought a replacement for the teddy last year, just in case this ever happened.

“She does not want the new teddy.

“The new one is fluffy – the other one was all scruffy and old.

“I do not know what it is about it but she will never let it go.”

The old teddy was bought from the Queen’s Medical Centre eight years ago, for Ms Rice’s older daughter.

“I bought another one off the internet because the hospital stopped doing them.

“My daughter is autistic, so it is all a bit tricky,” the 29-year-old added.

“We tried to find the teddy for another three hours – we asked in coffee shops.

“I posted about it on Facebook in case someone has picked it up.

“I showed my daughter the photo and she just stared at the picture and smiled.

“It is a pink, dirty-looking teddy bear. She takes it to school, she always sleeps with it – so last night was a bit difficult.”

Ms Rice asked for anyone who has seen the teddy and know of its whereabouts to contact her at finlay.rice24@gmail.com.
