Let the young shape our future – it’s theirs

-

IF it had been down to the young, Brexit would never have happened as 75 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds voted to remain.

If it wasn’t for Greta Thunberg and the young we would still be a world of climate change deniers.

In the USA it is the young who are driving the anti-trump feeling.

It is time for us older ones to let go of what happened in the past and to help the young gain their more inclusive, more rational world.

The young were right to reject Brexit.

It isn’t going to work. If we have misinformation growing anywhere it’s in the claim that Brexit is working/will work.

As far as I am concerned none of the deals we have arranged have improved either our status or our economy. Now we are being told that the deal we have with Australia is not a good one, that we gave too much away.

Surprise, surprise! The young know what they want – levelling up happening, meaningful action on climate change, a world where countries and governments communicate not confront, a world where the rich help out the disadvantaged.

It makes perfectly good sense to me and they have my grateful thanks for working to make this world a place fit for my grandchildren to grow up in.

Sorry, Councillor, who are you kidding?
