More merciful stance on our new monarch
EDDIE Sanders (“Ironic call over ‘deeply religious’ coronation”, Opinion, November 26) asks if “the newly minted king and queen both conveniently ignored the seventh commandment – Thou shalt not play away”.
Mr Sanders sounds sceptical regarding claims made about the pending coronation of King Charles being “a deeply religious event”.
Does having an adulterer, as Head of the Church of England, ring true to the origins of our national Church?
On a more charitable note, Mr Sanders might wish to reflect on the collective sinfulness of humanity, plus how we are all sinners in need of a saviour – kings, queens, commoners or others.
