Councillor Roger Jackson, of Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “We are committed to creating a cleaner, safer, and greener district for all to be proud of.
This case demonstrates the time and effort our teams put in to finding offenders, wherever they may be, and making sure that they are held responsible for their actions.
“Just because you are outside of our district does not mean you can blight our community without consequence. Our message is clear: don’t do it and we won’t be after you.
“We also offer a bulky waste collection service for a small charge so it’s worth checking our website for more information.”
According to the council, people who fly-tip could be heavily fined and in some cases sent to prison. If a case goes before a crown court, there is the possibility of an unlimited fine and up to five years in prison.
