Might a club tempt Notts with a million for Mac?
FOUR CHAMPIONSHIP CLUBS ARE RUMOURED TO BE TAKING SERIOUS LOOK AT MAGPIES’ SCORING SENSATION
NOTTS County’s Macaulay Langstaff is reportedly the subject of interest from four Championship clubs as the January transfer window nears.
Cardiff City, Swansea City, Bristol City and Preston North End are all rumoured to have registered interest in the 25-year-old, as his rich vein of form for the Magpies continues to catch the eye.
The striker signed at the start of this season after helping Gateshead win promotion from the National League North, scoring 30 goals in 42 appearances for Mike Williamson’s side.
And his form this season has helped Notts climb to second in the table. He has netted 18 goals in 20 appearances under Luke Williams, even earning comparisons to Manchester City forward Erling Haaland.
In a Post interview with Magpies owners Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz earlier this month, Alexander conceded an “extraordinary offer” could prise Langstaff away from Meadow Lane.
Langstaff is currently contracted until 2024 at Meadow Lane but it does not seem unrealistic that predictions of a bid of up to a million pounds may prove correct.
That could be the sort of sum the Magpies would feel they simply could not refuse.
