WOLLATON PARK AIMS TO ‘WOW’ VISITORS WITH IMMERSIVE DISPLAY USING 250,000 LIGHTS

THE Christmas lights event at Wollaton has become a bit of a holiday tradition in recent years as a quarter of a million light sources transform the night sky into a dazzling display.

This year, the show promises to be even bigger and better than ever, combining the lights with the magic of a seasonal Christmas market.

The beautiful light show has been curated by the same team that designed the previous shows with fifteen new dazzling displays including a huge finale.

There will be lots of opportunities to stay warm with a mince pie or two along the trail as little huts are dotted among the displays. Not only that but plenty of mulled wine and chances to roast marshmallows.

If you have been before, there will be plenty of new designs to keep you entertained with all new light shows.

“This year we have come up with a much more colourful and vibrant experience for visitors,” said Andy Kennett, trail designer. “We have a couple of old favourites like the laser gardens which have come back in a new location which is even bigger and more immersive than last year and we have a new Christmas tree.”

The teams, which include 10 light installers, five audio technicians, five electricians and more have been hard at work to get the display ready for the grand switch-on today. Tickets have already begun to sell out with visitors keen to see the new show.
