Discover new ‘secret’ grotto bar in city

THE Magic Grotto, dubbed ‘Nottingham’s best kept secret’ welcomed its first guests when it opened yesterday.

The hideaway bar can be found by those in the know, deep in what was previously a disused basement in the Lace Market.

Ten days ago the space was like a building site but it has been transformed with Christmas trees, baubles, twinkly lights and presents - plus a big screen which will be showing festive films.

Cocktails, with names such as Berry Merry Christmas and Red Rudolf, are served in Santa glasses and to eat there’s a Christmas tapas menu.

We’re not revealing its mystery location though so it remains a surprise for those who have booked for the Christmas pop-up bar. The spot is revealed to revellers hours before their visit.

The Magic Grotto will be open until December 31 from noon to 10pm. Festive music will be playing and club events will take place every Friday and Saturday throughout December from 10pm to 3am. For bookings visit themagicgrotto.co.uk.
