Festive foot-long favourite is back

THE wait is over. The famous footlong battered pigs in blankets are back on the menu at two Notts chippies.

They are a festive special at Bestwood Fisheries, in Arnold Road, Bestwood, and Jolly Fryer, in Low Moor Road, Kirkby-in-ashfield, and are as popular as ever despite the owners having to increase prices due to rising energy costs, as well as essential supplies.

Antoni Tsiolas, who runs Bestwood Fisheries, said: “At the end of the day we do the foot-longs to bring a little bit of joy and happiness to our customers, who I can honestly say are brilliant and very understanding when the prices have gone up.

“It’s impossible to raise prices to help with electricity but whatever we could do they’ve supported us.

“We know it’s hard for the consumer as well so the best thing we can do is give them plenty of food so it’s at least value for money.”
