Another nail in our high street’s coffin

I’VE just read that HSBC have announced the closures of some 116 of their branches, mainly in May 2023.

Eastwood is named as being closed on August 29, 2023.

Yet another nail in the coffin for local services and people in Eastwood.

All they are left with are a couple of TSB cash machines and a Tesco cash machine as you go out of the town towards Hill Top.

Not so long ago now there was an extremely well-used Nat West branch whose building has been left to rot on the high street. No longer.

RIP banking services and faceto-face contact which local branches offered.

But do the banks care? I think not.
