Cy Endfield’s stirring historical drama is based on the true story of the 1879 battle between British soldiers and Zulu warriors. An upper-class soldier and his fellow officers lead just 100 men against more than 4,000 tribesmen in the clash. This was Michael Caine’s first major big-screen role.

Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-laden thriller sees Leonardo Dicaprio (right) play a cop trying to infiltrate a violent crime syndicate in Boston. What he doesn’t know is the mob boss has his own mole – highflying detective Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon).

Julia Roberts gives one of her best-ever performances in this rom-com, as a food critic who realises that her friend Michael (Dermot Mulroney) is the love of her life. Unfortunately, this only dawns on her after he tells her he’s about to marry beautiful heiress Kimmy (Cameron Diaz).
