Epic drone light show is coming to Trent Bridge
SPECTACLE ‘UNLIKE ANYTHING SEEN BEFORE IN NOTTINGHAM’
A DRONE light show which promises to take audiences on a journey through time and space is visiting Trent Bridge next month.
Entitled Evolution, the event – on Friday, April 19 – is a celebration of the living world and will feature hundreds of drones in the night sky, fusing cuttingedge technology and creativity to explore the story of life on Earth.
The narrated story features a retelling of the Big Bang and the birth of the universe, the age of the dinosaurs and the dawning of modern humans.
The event, at the home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, is delivered by Celestial, the creators of drone light shows for brands across the globe, and Yuup, a local experiences company.
The 45-minute experience comprises an 18-minute pre-show and a 27-minute drone light show.
John Hopkins, Celestial co-founder and chief creative officer, said: “Evolution has been three years in the making.
“This is so much more than a drone light show, it’s an experience with stadium scale, created to bring audiences together using a new medium to tell the story of time.”
Dominic Mills, founder and CEO of Yuup added: “We’re hugely excited to be partnering with Celestial to bring this unique spectacle to the people of Nottingham and at such an epic scale.
“Our pilot shows in December were attended by 40,000 people and now the show is even bigger and better.
“Evolution will offer a brand-new source of entertainment unlike anything anyone has ever seen before in Nottingham, encouraging people to look up and reconnect with the world.”
Michael Temple, commercial director at Trent Bridge, said: “Hosting the first ever major drone show in Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge is an honour and a venture we are thrilled to be a part of.
“As well as hosting first-class and international cricket, we’re always looking to broaden what we can deliver at Trent Bridge, and we relish the opportunity to be part of such an innovative concept.
“We’re very much looking forward to welcoming as many people as possible to enjoy what promises to be a true spectacle.”
Gates will open at 7pm with food and drink outlets serving a variety of treats while a live DJ plays ahead of the show – which starts at 9pm.
Early-bird tickets are available until March 21, priced at £14 for adults and £9 for juniors and concessions, from www.yuup.co
