HEAD coach Nuno Espirito Santo could have received some positive news on the injury front ahead of Nottingham Forest’s trip to the south coast this weekend.

The Reds take on Brighton & Hove Albion in a big Premier League game at the Amex Stadium on Sunday. They go into the clash looking to end a threematch losing run in all competitions and sit only four points above the relegation zone.

They suffered a controversial 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at the City Ground last time out. And to rub salt in a sore wound, that meeting with Jurgen Klopp’s side also saw Nicolas Dominguez pick up a knock.

The midfielder had to be helped off the pitch when he was replaced by Danilo in the 79th minute. Nuno said afterwards the Argentine should be “okay” – and it seems his initial assessment may well have been correct.

The club have posted pictures of the squad in training ahead of the meeting with the Seagulls on their social media accounts. Dominguez was shown as being part of the group at the Nigel Doughty Academy.

Defender Willy Boly was also included in the photos. He returned to training last week and is expected to be in contention to face Brighton. Full-back Ola Aina was also shown in one of the snaps. As was the case with Boly, he had returned from the Africa Cup of Nations carrying an injury.

Midfielder Ibrahim Sangare had been in the same situation but made his comeback for the Reds as an unused substitute last weekend.

Nuno had said of his injured players last week: “Ibrahim is closer. Chris Wood is also closer. Ola and Nuno (Tavares), more problems. Boly is also in the final days of his recovery.”

After the game against Liverpool, he had said of Dominguez: “He is okay, hopefully. He said he was getting tight.

“Hopefully, it is nothing serious.”
