On the hunt for some Easter fun?

VISITOR attraction­s across Nottingham­shire are hosting a whole range of Easter activities. One of the Easter-themed events that has been growing in popularity is an Easter Egg trail. Here are some of the trails and hunts that are being held across Nottingham­shire.

■ Rufford Abbey: At Rufford, the popular “BIG Easter Egg Hunt” returns for another year. Held from Saturday, March 23, to Sunday, April 14, the charming trail tasks children with finding hidden eggs.

■ Sherwood Forest: A fairytalet­hemed trail will be held at Sherwood Forest this year. Children will be led through a series of magical locations, across the forest, linked to mystical creatures. The event runs from Saturday, March 23, to Sunday, April 14.

■ The National Civil War Centre, Newark: From Saturday, March 30 to Saturday, April 13, the National Civil War Centre will be hosting many Easter activities, including a themed trail. The activities will be free for residents of Newark and Sherwood.

■ Walesby Forest: There will be an ultimate Easter Egg hunt at Walesby Forest from Friday, March 29, to Monday, April 1.

■ Green’s Windmill: In Sneinton, Green’s Windmill has plenty of Easter themed activities, including their Eggciting Easter Egg Hunt, with lots of hidden eggs and a prize pack.

■ Creswell Crags: A “Small Animals of the Ice Age Easter” trail is currently open at Creswell Crags, near Worksop. Ten small animals from the Ice Age are hidden around the ancient crags holding secret letters. This event is running until Friday, April 12.
