Sausages, cider... and Barry from Eastenders

HUNDREDS of people are expected to attend a food and drink festival at Wollaton Hall this June.

The Sausage and Cider Festival returns to Nottingham on June 1, with a huge selection of ciders and tribute acts.

Half-price tickets, the saver tickets and the general admission tickets have all sold out in the build-up to the event, with the ‘final release’ tickets now on sale.

A range of street food vendors and up to 30 ciders are set to be available at the all-day event.

Organisers of the festival, which is also touring Guildford, Winchester and Bristol in the coming months, said: “We are excited to bring Sausage & Cider Festival back to Nottingham in 2024.

“We return with a brand new line-up of incredible tribute acts, street food vendors and now up to 30 different ciders available on site. Along with the upgrades to our food, drink and entertainm­ent, we have made improvemen­ts across the event with a new festival market, more kids entertainm­ent and a bigger Silent Disco.”

One of the acts confirmed to be making an appearance is Shaun Williamson, best known as Barry Evans in Eastenders, who will be performing under his stage name, Barrioke.

The spokespers­on said: “The star of Eastenders, Extras, Life’s Too Short and more recently, a million viral videos, Shaun has now taken the music festival scene by storm, bringing Barrioke to thousands of music lovers. Sean hosts his unique take on Karaoke with his trademark warmth and banter, accompanyi­ng participan­ts on stage and creating a memorable moment.”
